You might think that things don’t really change a whole lot from year to year in the world of faucets, and you’d be right – sort of.  Sure, some of the classic styles have been around for years, providing functional style to every room.  According to Moen, “more traditional lines are moving aside, making room for more contemporary styles and finishes.”  These ‘transitional’ pieces look great in any type of room – suiting an avant-garde modern aesthetic, just as well as a room inspired by the past.

In faucets and bathroom / kitchen accessories, it’s not just design lines, but also finishes that get an upgrade from time-to-time.  Where we used to see brassy hues, we’re now seeing oil-rubbed bronze and brushed nickel finishes.

And technology now plays a role.  In response to the changing times, Moen has a few great answers to some ordinary problems.  Take for example, messy hands in the kitchen.  Rather than introduce a touch-sensitive faucet / spray, Moen has a motion detecting version.  It’s perfect for a quick rinse for sticky hands.  Another huge stride is in their exclusive spot-resistant stainless finish.  Gone are the days of endlessly polishing your taps to shine.  Yeah!  Moen has also innovated to provide options to reduce water consumption, helping many builders meet or exceed eco standards.

Finally, for the true technophile is the latest and greatest.  Fully-digital shower systems that provide the same temperature and pressure, customized for each member of the family.  Now, that’s a true luxury!
