Happy Family Day Weekend! This is the time when we put down our phones and laptops and do what\u2019s most important: spend time with our families.\u00a0 As we get ready to spend our long weekend with those who matter the most, we hope that you are, too!<\/span><\/p>\n This weekend, there is no end to the exciting and creative adventures you can have with the kids.\u00a0 Remember to wear extra layers if you\u2019re heading to the great outdoors.\u00a0 While the weather is cold, there are so many things you can do, so get out and enjoy some brisk winter weather before it\u2019s gone.<\/span><\/p>\n For a real winter adventure, take the family for a drive up to Arrowhead Provincial Park Skating Trail in Muskoka. This 1.3km ice skating trail winds through the forest. On Saturday nights, the forest is illuminated by torches, making it a completely surreal experience!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0There\u2019s plenty of the fluffy stuff even an hours\u2019 drive from the GTA, and the ski hills are reporting great conditions!\u00a0 Blue Mountain<\/a> has lifts opening at 7:30 am on Family Day, so you might even get to make the first tracks. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Even closer to home, there are plenty of things to do in the GTA:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In Brampton, The YMCA will be hosting \u201c<\/span>Family Day at YCMA<\/span><\/a>\u201d from 8am to 6pm. There will be games and activities for families and children to enjoy. This will give your children the opportunity to meet other kids and participate in different crafts and games. As well, <\/span>Mount Chinguacousy <\/span><\/a>is open and the hill will be bustling with thrill seekers! You can also enjoy outdoor skating at Gage Park or Mount Pleasant Village<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In Aurora, locals are invited to enjoy the Arctic Adventure<\/a> with outdoor winter games, snow tubing and snowshoeing. This event will have live entertainment and professional ice carvings. There is nothing better than a winter carnival to lift our spirits and make us LOVE winter! Held from 10am to 4pm in the Aurora Town Park, this is something you will not want to miss.<\/span><\/p>\n For the people of Whitby, there will be free skating <\/a>all over the town for you and your family to enjoy. Check out the Town of Whitby website for times and locations.
