After 10 years of experience working in the industry Andrea’s entrepreneurial drive kicked into full force. There was no escaping the three generations of construction blood that ran through her veins. Realizing that purchasing a new home is a daunting and overwhelming experience Andrea took this concept coupled with her passion for the industry and in 2011 launched OPUS Homes. Creating a company that would stand out from the rest was central to her philosophy. She wanted to provide Clients with a personal, informative and caring approach to the new home buying experience. Since then, while having had three children, Andrea together with her husband Michael and their team have designed beautiful homes containing elevated Signature Finishes and Go Green initiatives, all while giving back to the communities in which they build through their Families Helping Families Program. But most important to Andrea is ensuring that OPUS’ Clients, Team Members and Associates are treated with respect & with a smile. In 2016 Andrea was honoured with the Young Entrepreneur Under 40 award bestowed to her by the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce and in 2018 the Riley Brethour Leadership Award from BILD, the 2018 Next Generation Award by the CIBPA, in addition to various other awards she and her team have earned. Andrea is proud to be a wife, mother and business woman, acting as a role model to her children and making a difference in the homebuilding industry.
As a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and having come from a home building family, Michael brings a depth of experience to the OPUS team. After having run his own legal practice for several years Michael joins the team as a senior managing director with expertise in the areas of real estate law and land development. By his nature and training, Michael takes special interest in the details and looks to incorporate that attention to detail into each OPUS home for the benefit of each OPUS client. Michael is delighted to be working alongside his wife (Andrea) in building a company which will be known for offering well planned, well built homes to all its clients.
In 1977, together with his older brother Silvio and father Giovanni, Carlo founded TACC Construction Ltd. As President Carlo is intimately involved in the day to day operations of TACC Construction, building Core Infrastructure in southern Ontario. Carlo is also Chief Operating Officer of The TACC Group of Companies, consisting of TACC Construction, TACC Developments, Dicrete Construction Ltd., Transpower Utility Contractors, Decast Ltd. and now OPUS Homes.
From being an active member on various Boards of Directors, to being chosen as one of the Torch Bearers for the 2015 Pan Am Games, to the largest individual fundraiser for the Ride to Conquer Cancer, Captain the “A-TACC” team benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Carlo always finds time for his family. Father of 3 and grandfather of 9, Carlo is well respected in the construction industry for building relationships, conducting business with integrity and giving back to the community. In 2011 together with his daughter Andrea, Carlo helped form the foundation of what OPUS Homes is today and serves as a mentor and advisor to Andrea and son-in-law Michael with the operation of OPUS Homes.
Having worked in the travel industry as a customer service supervisor for 18 years and subsequently in the manufacturing industry as an administrative coordinator, Rose Castoro has an abundance of experience in customer service and office administration. Her ability to work collaboratively with various departments within OPUS and communicate seamlessly with our trade partners has made her an asset to our team. In her free time Rose loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends, boating and visiting the cottage.
Melissa is an experienced Administrator who is dedicated to the success of her team and clients. Her hard work has helped her achieve a Degree in Business Administration from York University. With over ten years of administration experience, Melissa is always looking for ways to continue to grow her knowledge, not only for herself, but to provide a quality experience to each of her clients, colleagues, and team members. During her spare time, Melissa enjoys reading, listening to music, cars, and cooking – her friends even classify her as the best lasagna maker! Her positive attitude, outgoing personality, friendly demeanor, and willingness to adapt to her environment make her an imperative part of this team.
Who you are truly makes a difference in the work you do – which is why Nicole makes the perfect fit as our Senior Director of Corporate Affairs here at OPUS Homes. Nicole attended York University and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, as well as the University of Toronto for a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Her studies led her to practice as a hospital pharmacist for a decade in Emergency Departments, where she was able to develop and strengthen her interpersonal skills. Her friendly, kind and caring personality reflects how we want our clients to see us as a builder. Her passion to help the communities we build in, pay it forward and get involved with charitable works are only a few of the reasons why Nicole is well qualified for the role. In addition to her duties pertaining to corporate affairs, Nicole is also involved in facilitating the closings for each of our homes. Her diligence and attention to detail ensures that day-to-day corporate operations run smoothly, and that the best care is always provided for our clients and partners.
Vince is a vital member of the OPUS Homes family. With well over a decade of building management experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the Ontario Building Code. He has been recognized throughout the industry as someone who partners well with trades and suppliers, building positive relationships along the way. Because of his home inspection training and background, he takes exceptional personal pride in delivering homes of the highest quality, homes that meet his own strict standards. Vince’s strong work ethic and caring personality mean that he fits in well with the OPUS Team. Just one more person dedicated to meeting, and exceeding, our Clients’ expectations.
Morina has over 20 years of experience working with general accounting principles in Canada and Hong Kong. She never shies away from completing tasks efficiently and accurately with great attention to detail. With her friendly demeanor, positive attitude and organized ways, she is the perfect addition to our OPUS Homes accounting team.
Over the years, Nella’s career has taken her down various paths. With her willingness to expand, and her enthusiastic demeanor to take on any task she is given, she has created an outstanding reputation for herself amongst her peers. She truly believes that honesty and integrity are some of the most important qualities when working with a team, and aims to embody these traits in everything she does, and with anyone who crosses her path. Nella is also a very sincere, happy, and pleasant person by nature, and her enthusiasm for work & life is constantly being shared with those on her team – making each day a little bit brighter when she is amidst! With over 6 years of experience in general accounting, and a Diploma of Business Accounting and Administration from Humber College, Harpreet brings a wealth of knowledge to our accounting team here at OPUS Homes. Her thoroughness throughout her work creates a seamless experience for those she works with, and her thoughtfulness makes her an easily approachable person. Although shy by nature, Harpreet’s pleasant and friendly attitude shines through effortlessly around her team members. On her spare time, Harpreet enjoys learning new things, hiking, travelling, and of course, spending time with family and friends. She believes in both luck and hard work, and that the two of those things go hand in hand – the harder you work, the more luck comes your way. This comes as no surprise to us as Harpreet truly encapsulates this belief, and we are so lucky to have her part of the OPUS team.
Carmela brings a diverse finance background to OPUS Homes. Having worked within a traditional accounting practice, Carmela was eventually lured by many of her clients to launch her own private practice and therein began serving numerous home builders. Her thoroughness, willingness to take on numerous tasks and her warm easy going nature are amongst a few of her wonderful attributes. As OPUS 1st employ back in 2011, Carm continues to grow her skills and adapt to OPUS' ever-evolving and forward thinking ways.
Cassandra has been around the real estate industry since she was 15 years old. Her background working in real estate offices and new home sales has given her a true passion for the industry. Cassandra attended the University of Guelph-Humber where she simultaneously received a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Arts in Media Studies from Guelph University, and a Diploma in Media Communications from Humber College. Here she realized that her love of marketing, well developed communication skills, and knowledge of the real estate industry could create positive experiences for clients – which is why she decided to complete her skill set by becoming a licensed Realtor®. Cassandra is constantly learning, growing, and bettering herself as a professional to provide the upmost level of service to each of her clients and anyone whom she has the opportunity of working with. Cassandra truly believes that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life – and that is certainly where she has found herself to be.
An accomplished Finance Executive with extensive experience in the North American market, Anil is an innovative leader skilled in strategic planning, financial management and business development, including acquisitions and business process improvement. Partnering with leadership teams and collaborating effectively in providing data analytics and metrics, with a proactive approach to operational effectiveness, make up many of his strengths. His reputation for leading with integrity, respect and inspiration while being balanced and sustainable is a leadership style that delivers long term results. Anil’s years of experience in the finance world and his down to earth demeanour make him an exceptional fit for our OPUS team.
After being adopted into a third-generation home building family, Spock decided to claim a spot in the family business. As the Director of Public (Pup-Lick) Relations, Spock plays an essential role in office happiness and cohesiveness. His fun and friendly personality, combined with his high-level of professionalism, makes him the perfect candidate for this role. He is always the first person to greet our team and our clients at the door, while using his interpersonal skills to gain their trust, confidence, and eventually their hearts. On his free time, Spock enjoys all the little luxuries life has to offer, whether it be taking walks with family & friends, snacking on his co-workers treats when they’re not looking, or even just taking a nap somewhere in the office with his favourite toy. It’s safe to say that Spock is most definitely a VIP (Very Important Pup) here at OPUS Homes.
Laura DeGasperis attended York University and earned herself a Bachelor of Art with Honours in Law and Society. She subsequently pursued a Creative Advertising and Marketing Diploma from Seneca College. Her passion for design, art and all things creative led Laura to the construction Industry. Along with her 16 years of décor experience and her keen eye for design, Laura is a vital and creative member of our Décor Team.
Marilena is an accomplished individual with a history working as an Administrative Assistant, as well as a Law Clerk with a Diploma from Seneca College. Her education and comprehensive experience within both the New Home & Legal industries allows her to perform at the highest degree of professionalism in her position. Marilena prides herself on her attention to detail and diligence when it comes to work and handling whatever endeavor is at her hands. She constantly strives to produce nothing less than the highest quality of work for her team and clients, adapting to each situation she finds herself in. Her exceptional qualifications and superior knowledge are only a few of her finest qualities. Marilena is also a truly happy and outgoing person, who is often known for lighting up whatever room she steps into. Her eye for design allows her to imagine things in new and creative ways that help bring inspiration and innovation to her work. Having graduated from a BBA Accounting & Marketing program from Schulich, Jenny is able to take creative ideas while still delivering them in a practical way that makes sense for each individual client and their needs. Jenny is also a very happy and enthusiastic person by nature, always willing to try and experience new things. Whether it be traveling, sightseeing or good food, Jenny will fully immerse herself into different cultures to experience all the beautiful things life has to offer. She allows who she is as a person reflect who she is at work, and that is exactly the kind of person who you want helping you through your new home decor process – making Jenny a perfect fit in our OPUS team.
Mary Patrick’s passion and commitment to client sales, service and satisfaction has earned her top accolades at the highest level both nationally and internationally. She is someone with deep rooted ties in the Vaughan community be it through the numerous committees she has been a part of with the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce, the Tema Conter Foundation supporting our Front Line EMS Teams and local Soccer Clubs. Mary is a frequent speaker at George Brown College where she gives back to students aspiring toward their dreams in the professional world. Mary’s 30 plus years of top salesmanship and professionalism in various industries and her ability to understand the client focus approach OPUS is known for, makes her a key member of our Decor Team.
With over 25 years of experience in the building industry, from development to new home construction, assisting C Level Executives, interior design and much more – Maria brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Over the years, even with her full time EA position, Maria spent evenings as a part time Design Consultant, allowing her to develop her passion for design and decor. She even took her skillset one step further by completing a design program to help strengthen her knowledge and fulfill her passion. With this, Maria has been able to help guide clients in the right direction when it comes to their new home and finding what works best for them and their families, based on their wants and needs. Maria is a professional, energetic, outgoing and communicative person while still being an active listener, which comes in specifically handy when it comes to her clients. She understands that the best results in this industry don’t come from one person alone, rather the strong team behind the scenes bringing a whole vision to life. In addition to being an asset to the OPUS team, Maria is also an asset at home where she is a mother to 2 boys, a wife of 33 years and the family recently welcomed their newest addition, a grandson (aka, her ‘squish’) - who just turned one. Maria has diversified her skills in more ways than one to help establish the type of relationship and guidance that clients appreciate their Decor Pro having. Her informative, honest and caring approach to the job allows her clients to put their faith in her while assisting them in creating the home of their dreams. Giovanni began his career framing homes at the age of 17. Over the years, he’s acquired expertise as a Site Supervisor, Project Manager and Warranty Service Technician among other things. Giovanni is passionate, dedicated and detail-oriented, and knows the Ontario Building Code inside and out. Like the rest of the OPUS team, he is committed to building houses that people are proud to call home!
Over the years Anthony has worked in diverse areas like Site Supervision, Customer Care, Health & Safety Management and Site Budgeting. Anthony has a keen focus on efficient operations and commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Anthony is passionate about delivering a high standard of quality and developing strong client relationships based on trust. Anthony is a team player dedicated to making OPUS Homes the first choice of homebuyers in the GTA!
From his early days working as a bricklayer and framer, Frank has pursued building excellence for over two decades. Frank has worked in both site supervisor and customer service capacities, and with his quiet demeanor has a very client focused approach to everything he does. Frank’s philosophy is that a happy homeowner is a repeat homeowner. It’s a lofty goal, but one that each and every OPUS Homes team member shares.
Growing up in a construction family, Marco has been able to experience many parts of the industry from a young age. His first-hand experience with the home building process began when his father, grandfather and uncle took on the projects of building their own homes. Since 2015, he has been able to gain experience in concrete, paving, landscaping, outdoor carpentry, and site services. Marco also studied Carpentry and Renovation at Durham College, strengthening his experience and well-developed skill set. Throughout his college career, Marco spent his summers working with OPUS on different sites. He says, “My first summer with OPUS solidified my passion for building homes and the building process while learning from an experienced mentor.” His work ethic and experience has made him a valuable asset to the OPUS Team.
Having been immersed in the construction and renovation sector from an early age, Alex brings over 20 years of construction expertise to OPUS. Amongst Alex’s positive attributes, his greatest strength is that of modesty. Passionate and committed, he consistently strives to deliver the calibre of home for which he would be satisfied to own. Alex is devoted to excellence and manages all field operations for the OPUS construction program.
Sasha is a very hard-working and dedicated individual. He joined the OPUS Homes team with an abundance of experience and is very knowledgeable with the new home industry. His willingness to learn helps him overcome any obstacle that may cross his path. Results driven, Sasha constantly strives to put his best foot forward with every task. He is a great team player and a truly loyal and caring employee. Anthony is a member of the client care team and has a long history of working in the construction industry. Since he was 17 years old, he has been assisting in specializing in the finishing products of homes – helping clients bring their ideas to reality. Anthony also attended Humber College where he studied Construction and Project Management, where he learned about what is entailed in the successful results of the industry. Beyond his knowledge and education, Anthony is very outgoing, personable and demonstrates great integrity through his work with his dedication to delivering the highest level of quality to every homeowner. His willingness to learn and his friendly demeanor make him an excellent fit on our client care team.
Alana has over 5 years of experience in the customer service industry working for many home builders in the past. Throughout her experience in the industry, Alana has been able to successfully help guide her clients through the home buying and selling process. Her passion for real estate, alongside her desire to always lend a helping hand, has allowed her to go the extra mile when assisting clients, providing them with nothing but the best service. Alana is adamant on providing this level of service to whomever may cross her path, establishing successful long-term relationships with clients and colleagues. She always strives to provide the kind of service she would like to receive if she were in her client’s position. Alana also has a creative side where she is interested in interior décor and staging.
Jimmy has over two decades of experience working in client service with now a specialization in building. He is familiar with the construction process and has specialized knowledge of home insurance, home security, contract negotiations, estimating, sales, service, and support. A kind, caring and approachable person, Jimmy is committed to delivering on the OPUS Promise each and every day.
Curtis has been working with OPUS Homes for over 6 years. He continues to be a valuable member of our team who is constantly ensuring that any and all of our clients questions or concerns are attended to in the most timely and professional manner. With a background in Home Renovation at George Brown College, as well as many years at his own business, Curtis has been able to develop a work ethic that our clients and team always appreciate. Curtis also spent time at Brock University where he studied Sports Management. Whether it be something big or small, he is always available and ready to lend a helping hand. On his spare time, just as he is at work, Curtis is always on the move! His favourite hobbies consist of fishing, golfing, playing hockey and watching football. His energy and work ethic make him a very valuable member of our team.
Michelle Serroul attended Durham College and earned herself a diploma in the Early Childhood Education Program. Following the completion of her studies, she proceeded to work in daycare for 13 years. Michelle subsequently decided to switch to the construction industry in 2002. During that time she gained experience in the areas of Décor, Construction and Customer Service where she has now effortlessly transitioned to the OPUS Client Care Team. Travelling overseas or on family road trips are some of Michelle’s favourite things to do.
Karen has over 14 years of experience working with builders and with customer care. She always puts her best foot forward when it comes to assisting clients and ensuring that their needs are exceptionally met. Her friendly personality and attention to detail makes her perfectly suited for the job. When Karen isn’t busy making sure our OPUS clients are well taken care of, she enjoys spending time outdoor and being around animals.
