For these reasons, we do not allow anyone other than OPUS Homes builders and trades on site.

Due to the natural variation in wood grains and species, it is not possible for the staircase lumber and pre-stained hardwood to absorb stain in the same way. As a result, some colour and sheen variation will be present. This is a well-known issue in the industry, particularly since the introduction of prefinished hardwood, which is finished, sanded, and stained in a controlled factory environment, whereas staircases are typically stained by hand in a semi-controlled setting.

Due to construction financing and the associated interest carrying costs, OPUS generally does not accommodate requests to defer the closing date, as we incur interest charges for every day the title has not been transferred to the client. However, we understand the need to coordinate the sale of another property or work-related commitments, and we are willing to grant a one-week extension (if necessary) without penalty. We strongly advise against placing an order for basement completion or beginning this process for at least one year after occupancy. Given the remote possibility of basement leaks through forming weep holes or wall cracks, any leaks or required repairs to the interior walls will not be covered by OPUS if the basement has been finished by the client. Once settlement has occurred, we will proceed with paving the driveway and laying the sod. For newly built homes, seasonal work is not completed in order of possession dates but follows a flow-through method. You will be notified several weeks in advance of the driveway completion to ensure that vehicles are parked on the road.
