OPUS Homes President, Andrea DeGasperis-Ronco, was on hand at Captain Michael Vandenbos PS to accept thanks on behalf of the many OPUS Homes homeowners who donated their closing gifts to Families Helping Families.
Through this innovative program, which supports communities through homeowner contributions, organizations such as Earth Rangers, ETA Vaughan, and The Salvation Army can continue their important works.
“We feel that Earth Rangers provides a great service to kids, helping them to understand ecological challenges we face, and take action for a healthier planet,” said Andrea DeGasperis-Ronco. “Giving to this worthwhile organization was something that resonated with us and also with our generous homeowners.”
The funds went directly to supporting Earth Rangers in-school educational program. During the presentation, the kids were wowed by “Sonic” the Owl and “Timber” the Pine Marten.
Currently, Earth Rangers is running a program to raise awareness and funds for the protection of the Woodland Caribou, through Project Caribou, with proceeds from Roots T-shirt sales. They make great holiday gifts! Check them out here.
As well, the group is also running missions to help other amazing animal friends: Beluga Whales, Blanding’s Turtles, Barn Swallows, and Western Bumblebees. Your kids can get involved and become Earth Rangers, too!
Families Helping Families is just one way that OPUS Homes lives up to its’ promise of social responsibility, giving back to each and every community in a special way is of utmost importance. At present, Brampton and Vaughan communities have benefited from this program.
OPUS Homes is currently building in Brampton, at ValleyLands (Queen St. W. and Chinguacousy Rd.) and Upper Mount Pleasant (Wanless Dr. and Creditview Rd.) and is accepting registrations for its’ new community, coming soon to St. John’s Sideroad and Leslie St. in Aurora – Aurora Trails.
