There’s a lot to Learn in Brampton

School may currently be out for summer, but families that are looking for new homes in Brampton will certainly want to know about the nearby schools.  Fortunately, Origins is close to some exceptional schools.

Brampton is home to many elementary, secondary, public, private and faith-based schools. Brampton also has several private schools, including preschools, elementary, middle, and high schools that offer programs for children with special needs and learning disabilities, as well as those for Montessori, Christian, and Catholic education. A number of these schools offer French immersion programs for parents looking for a bilingual education for their children.

Some impressive high schools in the area include Mayfield Secondary and Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School. Mayfield Secondary is one of the two regional art schools in Peel District hosting the disciplines of Drama, Dance, Music, and Visual Arts. In each of these disciplines, students have competed at the National level and garnered the school several awards. Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School founded on a commitment to learning, social responsibility, caring for others and the pursuit of personal excellence. Fletcher’s is home to a robotics team that has participated in many FIRST Robotics competitions (annual international high school robotics competition) where they have earned many gold and silver medals.

The area will be making further strides in educational success as Ontario announced in 2016 that it would be expanding access to postsecondary education in Brampton, and supporting students with new learning options in their communities, (click here for article). The Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development highlighted the province’s plans to create new university-led post-secondary sites in both Brampton and Milton that will focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.

OPUS Homes is an established new home builder in Brampton, with three previous new home communities: River’s Edge, Upper Mount Pleasant, and ValleyLands.

While OPUS is laying the foundation for this new community, the surrounding educational community will provide families of Origins with the framework for a successful academic career.
