Whitby Meadows Presentation Centre to Feature Thrive Artwork!

At OPUS Homes and DECO Homes we believe that communities are at their best when neighbours support one another.  That’s why we reached out to the Abilities Centre’s Thrive Art Program for help in decorating our new Presentation Studio.

The program’s artists have been working hard to prepare art for our space, thinking ‘outside the box’ with some innovative use of materials!

The community of Whitby is truly enhanced by the world-class Abilities Centre facility.  It is the world’s most accessible, inclusive and barrier-free community hub and a model of inclusion for other communities. Through education, research and innovation, the Abilities Centre celebrates the diverse backgrounds and conditions in the community.

“We were really inspired by the Thrive Art Program at the Abilities Centre, and we wanted to support their endeavours,” said Deco Homes President, Corey Brown.  “The Artists were also really pleased to be asked to provide original works of art for the studio space, so it was really a positive experience for all of us.”

The artwork, along with photos of the artists will be prominently displayed in the new studio when the project launches officially later this year.

“At OPUS Homes, we look to support our communities in many ways, and the Abilities Centre was a natural fit for us,” said Andrea DeGasperis-Ronco, President of OPUS Homes.  “We really enjoyed seeing the Artists have fun creating the art, as well.”

While the Thrive Artists work on the collection for the Presentation Studio, we are continuing to make progress on construction and home designs, and are excited to deliver them to everyone who has been waiting for Whitby Meadows!
